About

Quichapa Coffee’s head roasters have been at it since 2015.

The roast was a little too dark, but tasted pretty good for a first try. We didn’t have much money and wanted to enjoy high-end specialty single origin coffee without paying the premium prices. By roasting it ourselves we were able to afford top notch coffee all day every day. We strive to acquire and roast the best single origin high-end specialty coffees while striving to make great coffee as accessible as possible. We hope you enjoy!

Our coffee roasting journey began with an old popcorn popper and 1/4 lb of green specialty coffee from Santa Maria Costa Rica that was picked up from a local specialty coffee roaster in the Bay Area, California where we lived at the time.

We consider the relationship with our green specialty coffee importer to be very important. It gives us the needed transparency to know that our coffee comes from well run small and large farms around the world. In some cases we have been onsite to see the farms but when that is not an option we strive to know the conditions of the farmers and all the wonderful ways that they are able to produce the top scoring specialty coffee that we love to roast and drink. Here are some of our core values:

From

Origin to

Cup

Freshly Roasted Coffee

We don’t buy bulk and we don’t roast bulk. We are a micro roaster. This means we roast the coffee within a days of it being shipped all over the U.S. for our customers. Fresh is the word for it.

Single Origin Coffee

The incredible flavors that each coffee farm around the world has to offer can be tasted in the cup when efforts are made at origin to keep the lots separate and process them for export with this in mind. We love our single origin coffee!

Clear and Easy communication

We think that making it easy to ask questions, place orders or even complain should be easy and so we pride ourselves on being easy to reach and clear in our communications.

Direct Transparent Trade

Something hard to do in all industries where coffee is no exception is to make it easy to know what part of the world the coffee comes from and what some of the basic details are about it’s farming, processing and shipping. We love to share things like which ocean port it arrived at or what method was used to process the coffee sherries etc etc.

Amazingly Affordable Specialty Coffee

Specialty coffee isn’t cheap, but we have been able to strike a balance that makes otherwise almost unatainable premium coffees accessible to everyday people. We are proud of this.

Quality in the Cup Speaks for Itself

We are happy to ramble on about how great our coffee tastes, but we think the fastest way to convey the excellence of our coffee it to get it into your hands so you can taste it for your self.
